What Certy is, and what it is not
Certy is analysis: our own estimate beside a sportsbook's price, written down before the game and graded in
public after it. It is not a sportsbook. It never takes a bet, never holds your money, and never
tells you how much to wager.
Every number on Certy is an estimate, and estimates are wrong routinely. A correctly working model still loses
plenty of individual bets. Nothing here is a reason to bet more than you planned.
Before you bet
- Decide what you can afford to lose before the game, not during it, and stop when it is gone.
- Never chase a loss. A miss is a normal outcome, not a debt to win back.
- Use your sportsbook's limits. Licensed sportsbooks let you set deposit, wager and time limits,
take a cool-off break, or exclude yourself. They are in your account settings.
- Keep betting money apart from rent, bills and savings, and never borrow to bet.
- Don't bet when you are upset, drinking, or trying to fix a bad day.
Signs it may be time to stop
- You bet more than you planned, or more often.
- You chase losses, or borrow to bet.
- You hide it from the people close to you.
- You feel restless or irritable when you try to cut back.
- It gets in the way of work, school, sleep or the people in your life.
If any of these sound familiar, call one of the numbers above. You do not need to be in crisis to call.
